How are the courses conducted?
All courses are divided in 6 month semesters. Students are required to attend three days a week classes. PTU conducts examinations at the end of each semester. The student will have to appear for periodic assessment and complete all assignments / presentations given to them for the purpose of internal examination.

The Mass Communication, Advertisement & Journalism Program:
Mass Communication is one of the processes of communication operating society at a wide level. It influences all the other types of communication processes. Due to its unique characteristics, mass communication has become a distinct branch of learning. There is a complex variety of media that people use when communicating to the public. The Print media & Electronic Media with its various forms have kept the people informed about the entire world. They have improved media’s capacity to deliver massages simultaneously and instantaneously to the global audience and have established it’s supremacy over the other means of communication. For this purpose Mass Communication, Advertisement & Journalism have become one of the core necessities for the society.
Mass Communication, Advertisement & Journalism is institutionalized and source specific. It functions through well organized organizations and is managed by professionals and has an ever increasing interface. Mass media has a global coverage and has converted the whole world into a global village. A qualified professional can take up a job educating, entertaining, informing, persuading, interpreting and guiding the public.

Working in print media offers the opportunities to be a news reporter, an editor, a feature writer, a photo journalist etc. Electronic media offers great opportunities of being a news reporter, news editor, news reader, program hosts, interviewer, cameraman, producer; director etc. Advertising is a line for a creative and artistic person. Planning, designing and promoting a product, all fall under the purview of advertising.
Syllabus:

Media Lab:
The College having modern equipment setup and full-time media lab technicians, helps students in honing their skills to become effective media professionals. The George College of Science and Management study have high-tech labs for Photography (Still/Digital), A/V Studio, A/V Recording and Editing, Graphics and Animation and other Multimedia Production Systems, primarily over Mac platforms using an array of PowerMacs, iMacs Network Devices, Software. The Production Studio is equipped with digital video cameras with on-line switchers, lighting and other associated acoustics and ergonomic features in tune with industry standards.
Library:
In higher studies consulting reference books is a must. To provide the students with such books the college has a well stocked and automated library full of books and journals both National and International, industry reports and research documents etc. so the students can keep themselves at par with the industry.
We also provide free study materials to the students, so that they will not have to buy costly books.
Facilities provided:
At any level of management, use of computers is an absolute necessity. We provide free Laptops to all the students so that they can keep themselves abreast of modern times. Further our campus is WiFi enabled and the students can use their laptops to connect to the internet.
Fees of the Course:
Admission + Registration fees = Rs. 55,000/-
Semester fees = Rs. 35,000/- each semester
Location:
The campus is located in the heart of the city and is a 2 minute walk from Sealdah Railway Station. It is easily commutable by bus, car and metro railway.
